CLK-Pamela Aguilar
rom:
Lorianna Kastrop <
pent:
Monday, February ,
To:
GRP -City Council
Cc:
Port -Kristine Zortman; MGR -Melissa Stevenson Diaz
Subject:
Harbor View Draft EIR
Dear Councilmembers,
Thank you for expressing an interest in the Port's input regarding the Harbor View Draft EIR. I have watched the entire
council meeting tonight on TV and heard Councilmember Masur's and Hale's request for a specific Port response. The
Port Commission has not yet discussed this project at a commission meeting, so I cannot speak for the Port or the
commission at this time. I can put it on an upcoming commission agenda.
I will say, however, that the Port participated in the General Plan update and we support the preservation of light
industrial land use adjacent to the Port because that land use is considered "compatible" to Port activities. Office use
presents concerns. In the past at Pacific Shores Center the development was required to provide "buffers" to the Port as
part of the development. That is on the public record, so I feel comfortable expressing that opinion on behalf of the Port.
I will also be happy to provide my personal opinion regarding the project, but it wouldn't be an official statement from
the Port so I will put that in a separate communication.
Thank you for your interest.
sincerely,
Lorianna Kastrop
Port Commissioner, Port of Redwood City
"Seaports Deliver Prosperity"
Sent from my mobile phone
