CLK-Pamela Aguilar <br />From: Bill Hilton > <br />Sent: Thursday, February 7, 2019 8:51 AM <br />To: GRP -City Council <br />Subject: Harbor View Project --No <br />Dear Mayor Bain and City Council members, <br />Please do not continue forward with the review process for the massive Harbor View <br />project. <br />Redwood City's Port is a regional asset that is critical for our region and it is supported by <br />the heavy and light industrial companies around it. <br />Changing the zoning of this area, to accomodate a massive commercial office project, in <br />place of industrial, will inevitably have a negative domino affect on all the heavy and light <br />industry that supports the Port and makes it viable. It will result in more land speculation <br />as more land owners request a zoning change to commercial office resulting in killing the <br />only Port in the region and a loss of economic diversity that sustains our region. <br />The development will significantly worsen traffic congestion on Highway 101, particularly <br />at the Woodside Road interchange, which is already very seriously impacted. In addition, <br />the Harbor View site is in the path of sea level rise. Redwood City should not be approving <br />further development in the flood zone with no plan for how to protect it. <br />The proposed project will worsen the jobs -housing imbalance, already a serious problem <br />in the Bay Area. <br />Please do not continue forward with this project, which is the wrong project in the wrong <br />place. <br />Thank you for your consideration. <br />Bill Hilton <br />Sunnyvale <br />I <br />
