CLK-Pamela Aguilar <br />From: <br />David Crabbe < <br />Sent: <br />Thursday, February 7, 2019 11:02 AM <br />To: <br />GRP -City Council <br />Subject: <br />Harbor View <br />February 7, 2019 <br />Mayor Bain and members of the Redwood City Council: <br />Re: Harbor View Development <br />Do not rezone the bay wetlands for the Harbor View project. <br />This development with 4,500 employees and no housing will only exacerbate the current jobs / <br />housing imbalance in the county and massively increase traffic congestion on Hwy. 101. <br />New commercial development needs to be near transit as you have encouraged in your downtown <br />plan, not in a potential flood plain due to sea level rise and isolated from the rest of the city by Hwy <br />101. <br />The bay wetlands should be left open for future sea level rise mitigation, not for commercial or <br />housing development. <br />To allow this development will not only have a negative impact on Redwood City, but on every other <br />community on the Peninsula. It's time to stop approving massive commercial growth without also <br />considering where the new employees will live and how they will commute to and from work.
