6.D. - Page 2 of 22 <br />ANALYSIS <br />This priority one project will construct a new 750,000 gallon water tank including associated pipelines and <br />pump station facilities within the next two years. The project components are: <br />• Construction of a potable water tank on a city owned site at 841 California Way, at the <br />intersection with Tum Suden Way; <br />• Construction of a soil nailed retaining wall approximately 160 linear foot long and from 7 <br />to 20 feet high, located on the hillside west side of the new tank; <br />• Replacement of existing pipeline to connect the new water tank to the Easter Cross water <br />tank, located up-slope of the project site; <br />• Construction of new on-site pipeline between the new water tank and the new pump <br />station on the project site; <br />• Construction of a new 2,000 foot long transmission pipeline from the new tank to an <br />existing pipeline at Jefferson Avenue and Fallen Leaf Way, to serve as pumping line from <br />Lakeview Water Station to the new tank; <br />• Replacement of the existing California Pump Station; and <br />• Installation of a new emergency power generator to service the new pump station <br />The Engineer's Probable Cost Estimate of this project is approximately $9,030,000.00. <br />Staff conducted a non -mandatory pre-bid meeting on November 27, 2018 and the Bid Opening was held <br />on December 19, 2018. <br />The City received five bids as listed below: <br />Bidder <br />Total Bid Amount <br />Total Bid Amount <br />(after corrections) <br />(lowest to highest at bid time) <br />(as bid) <br />MB Construction, Inc. The evaluation was conducted based in the Project Documents Section 00200 <br />- Instruction to Bidders.
