CATALYfT
Zack, Downtown Redwood City Connective Elements, 26 October 2004, page 4 of 5
family of signs and way finding elements. Using photosimulation, we will illustrate each of these
elements in a typical downtown location. We will also prepare a representative mock-up of the
proposed sign for presentation and review (cost of mock-up an additional fee to be determined
depending on materials, etc.).
b. Alternatives for Theater Way and Broadway/Jefferson/Main Parking lot (fee: $5,000)
We will develop the selected design for Theater Way improvements from Broadway to Veterans
and the Broadway/Jefferson/Main Parking Lot. The design development drawings will document
selected interventions in greater detail and specificity.
5. Meeting with Staff(fee: $1,250)
We will meet with you to present the more developed designs for Wayfinding and Sign and
Theater Way and Broadway/Jefferson/Main Parking Lot. The purpose of the meeting will be to
review the designs and prepare for the next step.
6. Architectural Review Committee (ARC) presentation (fee: $2,soo}-Optional
The Wayfinding and Sign Program will be highly visible and will contribute to the overall
identity of Redwood City. For this reason, it may be advisable to present it to the ARC. In this
task, we will prepare for and present the program to the ARC, using illustrations and
pbotosimulations to show how the program will integrate into the downtown.
7. Prepare Bid Documents
The level of effort for preparation of bid documents will depend on several factors that cannot be
assessed at this time. We propose to negotiate this phase of the work at a later time, once the
scope of the intervention and the method of contracting are more clearly known. The scope of
work may also require sub consultants, such as civil or electrical engineers, who can be added to
the team at this time.
a. Wayfinding and Signs
Bid documents will likely include drawings and specifications for the following elements:
- intersection signs at Veteran' s!W oodside, Woodside/Broadway, and
Veteran'slWhipple intersections.
- Secondary Gateways (signs or markers) indicating entry to the downtown core at up
to six locations
