VI' <br /> <br />IJ <br /> <br />Notice of Proposed Increase in Water Rates <br />The City of Redwood City staffhas recommended that service charges and consumption rates for water be increased. The <br />proposed increases are as fo1Jòws: <br />. Increase monthly residential Basic Service Charge from $12.00 to $14.25, eftèctive August 04, 2006. <br />Increase residential consumption rates effective August 04, 2006 as fonows: <br />e For the first 10 lmits of water consumption, increase "Lifel ine" rate from $1.18 to $1.28 per unit*. <br />0 For 1 1 to 25 units, increase rate from $2.16 to $2.26 per unit. <br />e For J 1 to 50 units, mcrease rate from $2.74 to $2.84 per unit. <br />0 For] i to 75 unit~, increase rate from $3.53 to $3,63 per unit. <br />0 For 11 to 75+ units, increase rate from $4.32 to 4.42 per unit. <br />" One ¡¡nil o{wGter equals 748 gallons. <br />Increase monthly commercial Service Charge for a 5/8" meter from $12.00 to $14.25, effective Aug. 4, 2006. <br />. Increase monthly .Q9l!1.l.m:.rç.illl Service Charges for larger meters by the same percentage as 5/8" meter charge is increased <br />(18.75%), effective Aug. 4, 2006. <br />Increase commercial consumption rates effective Aug. 4, 2006 as follows: <br />0 For 1 to 15 units, increase rate from $2.16 to $2.26 per unit. <br />0 For 1 to 75 units, increase rate from $2.74 to $2.84 per unit. <br />e For 1 to 75+ units, increase rate from $3.53 to $3.63 per unit. <br />The amount by which water bills at any particular property will be aftècted by these increases depends on the size of the meter <br />connection and the amount of water consumed. <br /> <br />l/I <br /> <br />The increases are being proposed in order to offset a projected 14% increase in the cost of wholesale water from San Francisco and <br />increased debt service associated with financing the City's Recycled Water Project. <br /> <br />The City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 5, 2006, at 7 :00 p.m. at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road. At the <br />hearing, the City Council will consider public comments, as well as written protests against the proposed water increases received. <br />If you would like more information about the proposed rate increase, visit www.redwoodcitv.org/publicworks/water and click on <br />"Proposed Water Rates & Charges Increase," or call 650-780-7464. Your letter must identify the property you own <br />by County Assessor's Parcel Number (APN), the owner(s) of the propelty, and must be signed by at least one owner of record. The <br />letter or postcard must be received by the çity by June 5,2006. <br />
