8.113. - Page 34 of 122 <br />COMMUNITY FOR ALL AGES <br />Celebrate the unique contributions that youth, seniors and residents of all ages and abilities bring to <br />our community and provide abundant opportunities for lifelong learning, healthy development, <br />physical activity and social connection. <br />GOALS <br />UPDATE <br />Maintain a high level of participation in the annual Summer Learning <br />15,000 people participated in the Summer Learning Challenge. Staff hosted <br />Challenge program (LIB) <br />7 weeks of events at each location weekly (28 Summer Learning Challenge <br />programs). <br />Issue the first diplomas to students in the Library's Career Online High <br />Staff honored three graduates at a City Council meeting in October 2018. <br />School program (LIB) <br />Continue loaning wireless hot spots, laptops and tablets, for home use <br />This on-going program offers 50 Verizon Hotspots at Fair Oaks, 30 Sprint <br />(LIB) <br />Hotspots downtown and 50 Kajeet (Verizon -filtered) hotspots for local low- <br />income students.
