6.B. - Page 1 of 3 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: February 25, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Acceptance of Improvements related to the Multi and Single Space Parking Meter System Upgrade <br />Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, accept the Multi and Single Space Parking Meter System Upgrade Project. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 9, 2016, City Council awarded the construction contract for the Multi and Single Space Meter <br />System Upgrade Project to IPS Group Inc. of San Diego. The project was awarded for a price of <br />$1,059,216.57, and the City Manager was authorized to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to <br />10% of the amount awarded not to exceed $1,165,138.23. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project was successfully completed in accordance with City specifications. One contract change order <br />was issued for additional foundation work that was required for the multi space meters in the amount of <br />$33,971. The final contract amount is $1,093,187.57, approximately 3% more than the initial contract <br />amount. Improvements completed as part of the project include replacement of all on street multi space <br />and single space parking meters, purchasing of spare components, installation of new parking <br />management back office system, and integration with PayByPhone and the Police Department's handheld <br />ticketing devices. <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />34 <br />
