<br />thanked the City and Port for their past support while welcoming discussion on this <br />topic. <br />Mayor Pierce asked to help get the word out that this is a postponement and that and <br />that a private organization puts on the display. <br />Keith Bautista, representing the Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of <br />Commerce, stated his pleasure in announcing the 18th year graduating class of the <br />Leadership Program. He further announced recruitment of the 19th class to begin in <br />September. Following up on the Progress Seminar held in April, is the Progress <br />Seminar Re-mixed to be held at the Oracle Conference Center on June 16 from 7:30- <br />noon. For registration, call the Chamber at 364-1722. <br />Vance Smith related a story of his life in Redwood City and the fireworks on the Fourth <br />of July. He stated that he participated in the parade and assisted the Kiwanis Club <br />selling Pepsi on the street. He reflected on the parade somewhat fading away over the <br />years realizing that PCA does this as a non-profit for Redwood City. He referred to an <br />article in the San Mateo County Times stating that there will be no fireworks this year. <br />He further stated that allowing this decision is not acceptable to the majority of the <br />residents. <br />Maria Diaz Vivian thanked the City Managers office for the PACT program. She further <br />thanked the Parks and Recreation Department and Civic Cultural Commission, <br />acknowledging that a young relative of hers, Dominique, won second place overall <br />achievement in arts. Dominique is a Northstar Academy student and Ms. Vivian stated <br />that we should note the little steps that little members in the community make. <br />6.1 Section - Motions - <br />A. Purchase of one Seagrave Marauder II Fire <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By Motion, approve the purchase of one Seagrave Marauder II Fire Pumper in the <br /> amount of $439,501.50, from Seagrave Fire Apparatus, LLC of Clintonville, WI, <br /> under the cooperative purchase provision of the City of Mount Joy, PA Fire <br /> Department's Sale Order #78C43. MINUTE ORDER 06-112 <br />C.
