Paulson <hilarypaulson@comcast.net> <br />cent: Monday, March 11, 2019 6:13 PM <br />To: Council -Ian Bain; Council -Diane Howard; Council -Janet Borgens; Council -Diana Reddy, <br />Council -Shelly Masur; Council-Giselle Hale; Council -Alicia Aguirre; GRP -City Council <br />Subject: Agenda Item 8A <br />Dear Council, <br />Sorry for the very tardy email. <br />I wanted to thank you all for talking on the task of drawing up Districts — from my recent experience on the <br />School Board —the whole process leaves one deeply worried about future local governance. <br />Dividing up a City that should work as an organic whole feels very wrong, particularly when council members <br />have been responsive to all neighborhoods. <br />I won't comment on any particular map, other than to say that personally the Bair Island neighborhoods feels <br />more like a part of downtown than Redwood Shores. <br />I would however like you to consider maps that put District 7 or both District 7 and 1 on the next election cycle <br />as they represent the largest number of residents of voting age. To leave District 7 without representation <br />until 2022, is concerning, particularly knowing that boundaries will have to be redrawn in 2020 post census. <br />hank you for your consideration, <br />Hilary Paulson <br />
