Chairperson Slusser encouraged the speakers to attend the Planning Commission and City Council meetings on this matter. Commissioner Swope said she was surprised at dollar figure of PDO and is concerned about impact to community. Superintendent Hover stated that the Nexus Study will be reviewed and the fee could be modified and brought back to the commission. He noted that as the item moves forward, the Commission will be kept advised of its status. Commissioner White expressed concern that discounts for affordable and/or senior housing were not included in the recommendation. M/S Morton/Swope: To approve the recommendations as contained in the Staff Report. Motion passed unanimously. ITEM 3 – SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS th -4 of July Parade th The Commissioners discussed the plans for the 4 of July float which will have a Union Cemetery theme. -Art & Wine Festival Commissioner Joseph asked that this item be moved to the July agenda. -Windmill Project Superintendent Hover reported that he, Commissioner Joseph and John Edmonds met to discuss the project. The Historic Resources Advisory Committee has approved the tentative location of the windmill to Union Cemetery. He noted that Manager Ramon Aguilar will be retiring in July but that Ramon has agreed to remain a volunteer on the project for the next 18 months. The Commissioners also discussed installing a plaque for Jean Cloud at the proposed windmill site. ITEM 3 - UPDATES -Park Rules Superintendent Hover noted that a response to the draft Park Rules was received from the Police Department today. This item will be brought before the Commission at their June meeting. -Pet Parade Commissioner Joseph reported on the successful Pet Parade and thanked staff, Teen Advisory Board and Youth Advisory Board for all their support. She noted that it was a fun day that included lots of children’s activities. A meeting will be held soon to critique the event.
