6.2A Page 1 REPORT To the Honorable Mayor and City Council From the Ci. ,Mart er July 10, 2006 Subject Final Acceptance - Fire Station No.1 0 - Emergency Generator Replacement Recommendation Accept the Fire Station No.1 0 Emergency Generator Replacement, and authorize the release of bonds and retention. Background On July 11, 2005, the City Council approved the award of contract for the Fire Station No. 10 - Emergency Generator Replacement to All Area Electric Construction Co., Inc. of San Francisco, CA. in the amount of $98,000. The project consisted of replacing the existing 6 KW diesel engine generator with a new 60 KW engine generator and base tank, new automatic transfer switch, new circuit breakers, conductors, distribution panels and other necessary electrical items capable of supporting the entire Fire Station No. 10. All work was completed in conformance with the Contract Documents, and to the satisfaction of Engineering & Construction Services. Two change orders were issued for a total project cost of $9,500.00, which represents 9.7% of the initial bid price, bringing the total cost to $107,500. Alternative Do not accept the Fire Station No. 10 Emergency Generator Replacement Project, which would be contrary to prior Council action. Fiscal Impact Funds in the amount of $122,770.00 were appropriated in the FY 2004~2005 Capital Improvement Program budget for this project. ~~ Chu Chang, P.E.
