At the meeting, the City Council may decide on a final map and sequencing of <br />elections. <br />Steps in Advance of the May 6 City Council Meeting <br />• April 27: On April 27, community -submitted maps and comments are due by 12:00 p.m. <br />Maps submitted by this date will be reproduced by the City's demographer, who will <br />also review the maps to ensure they are population -balanced and meet other required <br />criteria. Any maps and comments will be included in the May 6 City Council presentation <br />and staff report. <br />April 29: All community -submitted maps received will be posted on the City's webpage. <br />This meets the seven-day posting requirement under State law. The City will publicize <br />the revised maps via its weekly e -newsletter on May 3 and share through social media. <br />May 2: A staff report on district elections will be published as part of the Agenda packet <br />for the May 6, City Council meeting at www.redwoodcity.org/councilmeetings <br />May 6: The City Council will hold Public Hearing #7 and is expected to take action to <br />adopt a map, approve election sequencing and introduce an ordinance to transition to <br />district elections. <br />Stens in Advance of the Mav 20 Citv Council Meeti <br />• May 16: A staff report on district elections will be published as part of the Agenda <br />packet for the May 20, City Council meeting at www.redwoodcity.org/counciImeetings <br />• May 20: The City Council is expected to consider a second reading and final adoption of <br />an ordinance to transition to district elections. <br />Deadline Extended <br />• May 31: The extended legal deadline to transition to district elections is May 31, 2019. <br />Community Input Encouraged <br />The City Council appreciates all of the feedback received throughout the process of <br />transitioning to district elections. Community members are encouraged to continue to <br />participate in this process by attending a City Council meeting to share input. Other ways to <br />participate include submitting a map by using the City's interactive mapping software by going <br />here: http://Lexington.caliper.com/redwoodcity/ or by submitting a hand drawn map by going <br />here: https://www.redwoodcitV.org/home/showdocument?id=17210 to download a map or by <br />submitting edits to the demographer's revised maps. Individuals may email edited or revised <br />maps or comments to the City at districtelections@redwoodcity.org or submit hard copy edited <br />or revised maps or comments to the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, located at 1017 Middlefield <br />Road, Redwood City. <br />248 <br />
