Box 391 <br />Redwood City, CA 94064 <br />Tel: (650) 780-7380 <br />Fax: (650) 780-7309 <br /> <br />Community Development Services <br />Engineering and Construction <br /> <br />Mr. Mario Rodi <br />RODI CONSTRUCTION <br />475 Upland Road <br />Redwood City, CA 94062 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY MAIN LIBRARY CHILDREN'S AREA RENOVATION PROJECT <br />ENGINEERING FILE NO: 801-05 <br /> <br />You are invited to submit a bid for the above-referenced project, because you have either <br />expressed an interest, or because you have worked on similar-type projects with the City of <br />Redwood City in the past. <br /> <br />As you may be aware, the City is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and the successful contractor <br />is expected to observe the same rules, and comply with the Prevailing Wage Rate as set by the <br />Industrial Relations Department. <br /> <br />To be eligible, the contractor must be a licensed Building Contractor; carry the appropriate <br />insurances; have a Redwood City business license, and be able to enter into a standard <br />contract agreement with the City (see attached sample). <br /> <br />The Main Library is located at 1044 Middlefield Road, and the Children's Area is on the ground <br />floor. The remainder of the library must remain in service at all times during the construction, <br />and the contractor shall not interfere with the operation of this facility. The Children's Area and <br />the extended area within the boundary of work, will be made available to the contractor to <br />perform this work, and work is expected to be completed within 30 days from the time of <br />inception. <br /> <br />There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting at the job site at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2006. <br />Only those who attend the pre-bid meetinq will be considered. <br /> <br />Attached, are the Plans and Bid Forms. Please use the Bid Forms to prepare your proposal. <br /> <br />Bids are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006. <br />anticipated to begin until the last week of July. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 650-780-7388. <br /> <br />However, construction is not <br /> <br />6C'~ <br /> <br />S.
