<br /> 6.10 <br /> REPORT Page 1 <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> August 7, 2006 <br /> Subject <br /> Agreement with the San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools <br /> Recommendation <br /> Approve by motion and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement between <br /> the City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools. <br /> Background <br /> The San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools is the lead agency and fiscal agent <br /> for the implementation of Preschool for All in San Mateo County. Redwood City and <br /> Ravenswood School District attendance areas are the target communities for the <br /> demonstration program funded by First 5 San Mateo County, First 5 California {"Power <br /> of Preschool" Demonstration grant), SMC Human Services Agency, Packard <br /> Foundation, and other sources. <br /> The County Superintendent wishes to take advantage of the expertise of the Redwood <br /> City Child Care Coordinator, to support Preschool for All implementation in our <br /> community. They preYiously contracted with the City from April 2005 through June 30, <br /> 2006 for .25 FTE, and now wish to enter into a new agreement for FY 2006..Q7. They <br /> wit! issue payment to the City in an amount not to exceed twenty-five thousand dollars <br /> and no cents ($25,000) for the Services (personnel costs $23,520; out-of-pocket <br /> expenses $1,480). Personnel costs are charged at $45.23 hourly for 520 hours <br /> (equivalent to .25FTE for 52 weeks). Payment will be made on a quarterly basis, based <br /> on invoices submitted to the County Superintendent by the City. Payments will be made <br /> within 31 days of receipt of an approved invoice. Upon mutual agreement of the Parties, <br /> the City Manager may, by written amendment, agree to adjust the City's hourly <br /> commitment and hourly rate. <br /> Alternative <br /> Not execute the agreement. Child Care Coordinator would remain at .50 FTE. <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> The San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools will be billed on a quarterly basis <br /> from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007.
