Draft Traffic Operations Analysis: Late 2006/Early 2007
. Environmental Document Public Circulation: Early 2008
. Environmental Document Approval: Summer 2008
. Design Completion: 2010
. Begin Construction: Late 2011/Early 2012
. End Construction: Late 2013/Early 2014
The Draft Traffic Operations Analysis report should provide substantially more information
with which the potential benefits of the project alternatives can be evaluated, and staff will
review this analysis as soon as available. Given the uncertainty about the project benefits
until the outcome of this analysis is provided, staff considers the schedule presented above
as extremely optimistic.
Alternatives
The two alternative interchange configurations that the Transportation Authority is fully
analyzing are pr~sented in text and schematic graphics in Attachment A, with a few brief
staff comments on potential benefits and issues. Highlighting the key differences between
the two alternatives:
. Alternative A: Widens 5-way intersection at BroadwaylVVoodside/Southbound Off-
ramp. Retains Veterans Boulevard connection to Woodside Road.
. Alternative B: Eliminates Veterans Boulevard connection to Woodside Road, with
cul-de-sac. Broadway I Woodside becomes standard 4-way
intersection.
Page1of2
.-.-. ...-
