We join economic and social goals with a clear vision for <br />building attractive town centers, neighborhoods and public pl~ces. The finn offers specialized services in dis~ict <br />revitalization, redevelopment and infill master planning, ~ransit center and station area design, designs for public <br />streets, squares and greens, development standards and design guidelines, dis~ct identity enhancement planning, <br />and general urban design and town planning. As par~ of all project types ~ provides our own brand of public <br />pamcipation process planning and facilitation. <br /> <br />The £~'m was founded by Michael Freedman in 1985 in Mountain View, California, and is now beadqusr~red in <br />San Francisco and headed up by three Principals - Michael Freedman, Gregory Tung and Alison Kendall. Each of <br />the Principals conmibutes a unique urban design specialization to the fh'm's collaborative solutions. Alison Kendall, <br />AICP, combines substantial public agency planning experience with experience as an urban design consultant on <br />large scale mixed-use ~ansit-oriemed planning as well as preparation of development standards and design review <br />guidelines. Mr. Tung is an urban designer specializing in architacmre and streetscape design - particularly the <br />development and implementation of policies that insure that buildings contribute significantly to ~be form and <br />character of cities, and in the preparation of design standards and custom designed landmarks, bridges and street <br />f~rnimre. Mr. Freedman specializes in redevelopment and infill master planning, policy writing and in the design of <br />sp~ial streets and public places, especially where strategies, plans and designs must be coordina~t to achieve <br />tangible beneficial change to existing cities. The senior st~ff also includes four Associates - Mr. Gregory D¢lanne, <br />Mr. Inn Ross. Mr. Hiroyuki Sasald, and Ms. Sarah Dennis. They are experienced, multi-disciplinary urban design <br />professionals with training in planning, architecture, and landscape architecture. <br /> <br />Within our seventeen year history, FTB has developed innovative urban design solutions that achieve communities' <br />objectives~ sach as the revitalization of downtown Mountain View, California; the creation ora new city center in <br />Yuba City, California; ~he development of a Revitalization Strategy and Specific Plan for downtown Ventura, <br />Cali£ornia; the redevelopment oi~ downtown Cathedral City, California and the Palm Canyon Drive Cor~dor; and the <br />revitalization of Downtown LodL California. I~TB h~s also provided designs for public improvement projects tha! <br />catalyzed new investment in the downtowns of Phoenix. Arizona; Lodi, California; Ames, Iowa; and Cathedral City, <br />California. Recently completed projects include a citywide redevelopment master plan for the Ci~ of East Palo Alto, <br />California; a Hear~ of the City Specific Plan for the city center and waterfront area of Redondo Beach, California; a <br />Civic Plaza for the City of Fremont, California; a riverwatk for the City of Napa, California; a series of transit <br />corridor designs within Silicon Valley for the Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA); an infill development <br />master plan for the redevelopment of a l$-acre shopping center site along El Camino Real in San Mateo. California <br />(for Carstens Realty); and the design for the first "Grand Boulev~d" for the central business district of the City of <br />Bangkok. Thailand. Projects currently underway at FTB include two Corridor Revitalization Master Plans - one for <br />the seven miJe commercial strip in Whittier, California and another for the two-mile commercial strip in Montebello, <br />California: a Downtown Specific Plan for Livermore. California: and the development of mixed-use prototypes for <br />the South oI Forest Area in Palo Alto, California. <br /> <br /> <br />
