REPORT <br /> <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> <br /> October 7, 2002 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Continued Use of the Redwood City Police Department's Shooting Range by the Califomia Highway <br />Patrol. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The City Council approve the renewal of the existing contract allowing the California Highway Patrol <br />use of the Redwood City Police Department's shooting range. <br /> <br />Background <br />The police department has an indoor 25 yard, four lane firing range. The California Highway Patrol, <br />and Foster City, San Carlos, and Belmont Police Departments have contracted with the City for use of <br />the range. Currently, the aforementioned agencies are paying an hourly rate equivalent of $55 <br />charged at a fixed rate per day of usage. The California Highway Patrol is requesting continued use of <br />the range and is willing to enter into a three year contract at a cost of $39,600. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The agreement will generate $13,200 in general fund revenues per year. <br /> <br />Scott Warner I~,onald Matuszak Ed Everett <br />Captain Deputy Chief City Manager <br /> <br /> <br />
