enforcing laws dealing with animal control within its jurisdiction. <br /> <br />CITIES: All of the cities listed in Exhibit A hereto. <br />COUIFi~ CONTRACTOR: shall mean the Peninsula Humane Society (PHS), a <br />California nonprofit corporation, or such other agency as the <br />County Board of Supervisors may designate. <br /> <br />HOLIDAYS: shall mean Federally designated holidays. <br /> <br />B. CITY'S RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br /> 1. Adoption of Animal Control Ordinances & Fee Schedule. <br /> CITY shall, within 120 days after requested to do so by <br /> the COUNTY, adopt and maintain the same animal control <br /> ordinance and fee schedule as the COUNTY. The animal <br /> control ordinance shall be substantially the same as the <br /> provisions of Chapters 6.04, 6.12, and 6.16 of Title 6 of <br /> the San Mateo COUNTY Ordinance Code, as amended, to be <br /> effective within the CITY limits. The fee schedule shall <br /> be substantially the same as outlined in Chapter 6.04.290 <br /> of the above mentioned Ordinance. <br /> <br /> 2. Delivery of Animals. CITY shall deliver to the shelter <br /> at 12 Airport Boulevard, San Mateo, or hold in a humane <br /> way at a designated holding area until it can be picked <br /> up by COUNTY CONTRACTOR staff any animal taken into <br /> custody by an employee of the CITY. <br /> <br /> 3. Designation of Animal Control Officer. CITY shall <br /> designate as the Animal Control Officer of CITY the same <br /> person that COUNTY designates as the Animal Control <br /> Officer of COUNTY, and shall cooperate fully with the <br /> COUNTY Animal Control Officer to facilitate the <br /> performance of said functions. <br /> <br /> 4. Designation of License Collector. CITY shall designate <br /> the COUNTY's Division of Revenue Services as the CITY <br /> official responsible for license fee collection. <br /> <br /> 5. Payments. <br /> (a) CITY shall pay to the COUNTY prior to January 1st <br /> of each fiscal year, and following the receipt of <br /> an invoice from COUNTY, the CITY's percentage share <br /> of the net program cost of the Animal Control <br /> Program. This net program cost shall be determined <br /> by the COUNTY and shall be equal to the cost of the <br /> contract between the COUNTY and COUNTY CONTP~ACTOR <br /> plus the cost of the COUNTY administering licensing <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
