2/28/00 <br />O R I C I i i (� L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 13843 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING FORM OF AGREEMENT <br />PERTAINING TO PARTICIPATION IN THE REDWOOD CITY <br />ABANDONED SHOPPING CART RETRIEVAL PROGRAM, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUCH <br />AGREEMENTS WITH PARTICIPATING OWNERS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article VIII (commencing with <br />§ 14.115) of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, the City <br />provides for the abatement of abandoned shopping carts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has established a program for the retrieval of <br />abandoned shopping carts under which business owners who or which provide <br />shopping carts for the use of their customers may contract with the City, as <br />"Participating Owners," for shopping cart retrieval services and the City, in turn, <br />shall contract with an enterprise in the business of shopping cart retrieval, the <br />costs of which are borne by the Participating Owners; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to, and reviewed by this Council, a <br />form of agreement to be entered into between Participating Owners and the City <br />in accordance with the Shopping Cart Retrieval Program; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Reso-832 1 <br />DES:rg <br />R/Shared /Redwood /Council <br />02123/00 <br />
