2/14/00 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 13829 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE 1999 -2000 TREE <br />PRESERVATION AND SIDEWALK REPAIR PROGRAM; <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR SAID <br />WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.13699, adopted August 23, 1999, <br />the City Clerk advertised for bids for the 1999 -2000 Tree Preservation and <br />Sidewalk Repair Program, Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said advertisement, five bids were received for <br />the performance of said work and filed with the City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, J.W. Riley & Son, Inc. of Emeryville, California is the lowest <br />responsible bidder, and it is the intention and desire of this Council to award <br />said bid to J.W. Riley & Son, Inc.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The bid of J.W. Riley & Son, Inc. in the amount of Three Hundred <br />Seventeen Thousand and No /100 Dollars ($317,000.00), computed in <br />accordance with bidder's proposal dated December 1, 1999 for the 1999 -2000 <br />Tree Preservation and Sidewalk Repair Program, is hereby accepted and said <br />bidder is hereby found and declared to be the lowest responsible bidder for said <br />work. <br />Reso-799 1 <br />DES:djk <br />01/27/2000 <br />F:SharedlRedwoodlCoundl <br />
