11/15/99 - ORIGINAL - RESOLUTION NO. 13790 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULTS OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1999 WHEREAS, the Council of Redwood City, by Resolution No. 13662, duly passed and adopted on June 28, 1999, called for the General Municipal Election held on Tuesday, November 2, 1999 and requested consolidation thereof with the Redwood City School District Elections; and WHEREAS, the County Clerk has forwarded to the City Clerk the certified results of the General Municipal Election held on Tuesday, November 2, 1999; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Clerk of the City of Redwood City shall be, and is hereby, instructed to enter this resolution in the minutes of this Council as a statement of the result of said election. 2. The number of voters who cast their ballots in said City at said General Municipal Election was 9914. 3. The list of candidates nominated for the office of Council Member to be filled as said General Municipal Election and the names of the candidates which were set forth in the petitions assembled and filed with the City Clerk, as required by law, and the number of votes in favor of each of the candidates were as follows: List of Names of Candidates Total of Votes Cast Richard Claire 6046 Barbara Pierce 6019 Matt Leipzig 4150 Colleen Jordan 5503 Ira Ruskin 6532 LaVeme Athefly 3460 4.
