WHEREAS, pursuant to California Government Code §§ 6500 et. seq. a <br />new JPA is to be established with the name of the South Bayside Waste <br />Management Authority (SBWMA), pursuant to a joint exercise of powers <br />agreement under California Government Code §§ 6500 et seq., (the JPA <br />Agreement), a copy of which agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit A; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best interests of the <br />health, safety, and welfare of the City of Redwood City to enter into the JPA <br />Agreement as an equity member, and to establish the SBWMA; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> That certain agreement entitled, "Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement <br />South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBVVMA)" dated October 13, 1999, <br />a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is <br />hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is hereby approved, and the City <br />Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute, and to <br />attest thereto, respectively, said agreement for and on behalf of the City of <br />Redwood City. <br /> <br /> Reso-778 <br /> F:/Shared/Redwood/Cou ncil <br /> DES:djk <br /> 11/03/99R 2 <br /> 13788 <br /> <br /> <br />
