_ 11/8/99 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13779 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br /> OF AGREEMENT FOR FIRSTSTOP - SMALL BUSINESS LEGAL <br /> ASSISTANCE <br /> <br /> (LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF SAN MATEO COUNTY) <br /> WHEREAS, Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County (Contractor) conducts a <br /> conducts a technical assistance and legal advice program to assist low income residents <br /> of Redwood City to establish their own business (the Program); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct <br /> the Program during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1999, and ending June 30, 2000; <br /> and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />allocate to Contractor, the sum of Eleven Thousand, Five Hundred and no/100 Dollars <br />($11,500.00) from its Community Development Block Grant funds for the foregoing <br />purposes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an agreement providing for such funding has been presented to, and <br />reviewed by, this Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to approve said <br /> <br />agreement and authorize its execution; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br />
