Exhibit A <br />Scope of Work <br />Contractor's services will consist of removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, curb and <br />gutter, asphalt pavement, removal of concrete and installation of ADA -compliant curb ramps <br />(ADA ramps), utility trench/street repair and similar work on an as needed basis. Contractor will <br />provide all labor, materials, disposal, equipment, traffic control and apparatus not specifically <br />mentioned in this Agreement, but which are necessary to complete the services specified <br />herein. <br />Contractor shall have daily communication with the City's project manager. The City's project <br />manager shall assign Contractor work, which Contractor shall complete within twenty-one (21) <br />City business days from the date of the assignment. <br />Contractor shall comply with all City's Engineering Standards, including, but not limited to <br />Volumes 1, 2 and 3. Contractor shall comply with Caltrans Standards as applicable to the work <br />assigned. <br />City Engineering Standards link: https://www.redwoodcity.org/departments/community- <br />development-department/engineering-transportation/engineering/ensineerine-standards for <br />all work done. Contractor shall also comply with city/countv standards of the jurisdiction where <br />work is done. <br />1. Contractor shall demolish existing sidewalks, asphalt, curbs/gutters, and ADA ramps. <br />a. Work shall include the saw cutting, removal and disposal of the particular <br />concrete/asphalt item specified, and shall include the base and all its appurtenances to <br />the appropriate depth below finished grade for the thickness of the concrete item, plus <br />four inches thick base rock. Concrete removal shall include any thickness of concrete <br />encountered during excavation. Sites may require greater or lesser excavation and <br />greater tree root removal, if the existing grade has been raised above or settled below <br />final grade. Where sidewalks or curb and gutter are relocated for ADA ramp installation, <br />additional excavation may be required. Where root pruning is required, the sidewalk <br />shall be removed and excavation shall not occur until after root cutting is performed. <br />b. Concrete removal shall be done in a manner to avoid chipping and breakage of <br />remaining concrete at the conform line. Temporary asphalt ramps or patches on <br />concrete adjacent to repairs shall be removed to the original concrete surface. If <br />concrete is chipped, the existing sidewalk shall either be re -saw cut adjacent to the chip <br />or at the nearest score line at the decision of the City's project manager.
