6.J. - Page 7 of 10 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY MAKING A PORTION OF HOPKINS AVENUE <br />A TEMPORARY ONE-WAY STREET FOR THE PERIOD OF THE <br />HOPKINS TRAFFIC CALMING PILOT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, in early 2017, the City initiated a formal traffic calming <br />process for Hopkins Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, the conceptual design was presented to the Complete Streets <br />Advisory Committee on February 20, 2018, and to the City Council on April 23, <br />2018; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff is now proposing to implement the Hopkins Traffic <br />Calming Pilot Project, which includes temporarily making a portion of Hopkins <br />Avenue a one-way street for the time period of the pilot only, which is expected to <br />be 3-4 months. The portion of Hopkins that will be a one-way street is shown in <br />Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated by reference; and <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City Code Section 20.46 provides for the <br />designation of one-way streets by resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Approval of Pilot Project. The City Council approves making a <br />portion of Hopkins Avenue a temporary one-way street as shown on Exhibit "A" <br />for the period of the Hopkins Traffic Calming Pilot Project as described in the <br />staff report. <br />2. Effective Date.
