7.A. - Page 1 of 6 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: April 22, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Proposed Architectural Advisory Committee Work Plan for FY 2018-2019 and FY 2019-2020 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Review, discuss, and approve by motion the proposed Architectural Advisory Committee Work Plan. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council has asked each City Board, Commission and Committee (BCC) to prepare a two-year work <br />plan, beginning with fiscal year 2018-2019, for Council review and approval. The purpose of the work plan <br />is to align BCC work with the City Council's Strategic Initiatives and priorities. Work plans are to be <br />prepared by BCC members and presented to the City Council by the BCC Chair and Vice Chair. The <br />Architectural Advisory Committee (AAC) discussed the work plan at their January 17, 2019 meeting and <br />reviewed the work plan at a joint study session with the Planning Commission on March 5, 2019. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The AAC is composed of five professionally licensed architects or landscape architects residing or working <br />in Redwood City, appointed by the Planning Commission to four-year terms, to advise the Planning <br />Commission on large or sensitive projects where architectural elements are significant and additional <br />community input is desired.
