8.113. - Page 24 of 72 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ADOPTING REVISED COURTHOUSE SQUARE ADMINISTRATIVE <br />GUIDELINES <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("City") has the authority to manage and <br />operate Courthouse Square; and <br />WHEREAS, City Code Chapter 33A, Article III sets forth the permitting <br />requirements for the use of Courthouse Square; and <br />WHEREAS, on December 14, 2009, the City Council approved the Courthouse <br />Square Administrative Guidelines ("Guidelines") to describe the policies and procedures <br />for permitted events at Courthouse Square and to supplement the provisions of City Code <br />Chapter 33A, Article III; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 9, 2018, the City Council requested the formation of an Ad - <br />Hoc Committee to look into Special Event Fees being charged by various City <br />departments, including fees related to the use of Courthouse Square; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ad -Hoc Committee recommended that the Guidelines be updated <br />to revise application and permit requirements for special events at Courthouse Square; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed revisions to the Guidelines would implement policy <br />direction from the City Council and also conform with recommended practices. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The proposed revisions to the Courthouse Square Administrative <br />Guidelines attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference are hereby <br />adopted. <br />SECTION 2.
