6.A. - Page 1 of 16 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />\%,a/ <br />DATE: April 22, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Professional Services Agreement with Cornerstone Earth Group to provide Geotechnical Engineering <br />Services for the construction phase of the California Water Tank, Pump Station and Transmission Main <br />Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, authorize the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Cornerstone <br />Earth Group to provide Geotechnical Engineering Services for the construction phase of the California <br />Water Tank, Pump Station and Transmission Main Project in the amount of $92,960, and authorize the <br />City Manager to amend the agreement for an additional amount of $9,296 in the event additional services <br />are necessary, for a total contract amount of $ 102,256. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The California Water Tank, Pump Station and Transmission Main Project (Project) involves the <br />construction of a new 750,000 gallon water tank, including associated pipelines and pump station <br />facilities. The project components are: <br />• Construction of a potable water tank on a City -owned site at 840 California Way, at the <br />intersection with Tum Suden Way; <br />• Construction of a soil nailed retaining wall approximately 160 linear foot long and from 7 <br />to 20 feet high, located on the hillside west side of the new tank; <br />• Replacement of existing pipeline to connect the new water tank to the Easter Cross water <br />tank, located up-slope of the project site; <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />8 <br />
