7/12/99 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13674 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT, BECAUSE <br /> OF LOCAL CONDITIONS, THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, <br /> WELFARE AND NECESSITY, REQUIRING CHANGES OR <br /> MODIFICATION TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE II OF <br /> CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE <br /> ADOPTION OF THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, t997 EDITION," <br /> BY REFERENCE AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL <br /> FIRE CODE INSTITUTE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 50022.1, et seq., of the <br />Government Code, and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, <br />this Council proposes to adopt by reference the "Uniform Fire Code, 1997 <br />Edition," (hereinafter the "Fire Code") as published by the International Fire Code <br />Institute; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in connection therewith, certain changes or modifications are <br />proposed to be made to the substantive provisions of said Fire Code, which <br />changes or modifications are reasonably necessary due to local conditions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the changes and additions to said Fire Code, which are <br />proposed to be made, clarify the Fire Code and in certain instances, impose <br />more stringent fire protection requirements that are required by the Fire Code <br />and include: (1) inspection of buildings; (2) abatement of unsafe buildings; (3) <br />installation and use of fire safety devices; (4) installation of fire sprinklers; and <br />(5) Code enforcement for false alarms; and <br /> <br />Reso-681 1 <br />FlshlshlRCICouncil <br />FXS:rg <br />06101199 <br /> <br /> <br />
