6.2B <br /> Page 1 <br /> ff���'C�f�' T <br /> Ta the Honorable Mayor a�d City Cauncil <br /> From the Ci Mana er <br /> September 11, 2Q�6 <br /> Subjec# <br /> Acceptance--Woodside Road Median Improvements Pro}ect <br /> Recommenda#ion <br /> By mo#ion, accept the Woodside Road Median improvements Project, and authorize <br /> the release of bonds and r�fention per contract obligations. <br /> Background <br /> On December 19, 2�05, the City Council approved Contract Documents, and <br /> aufhorized tl�e award of Contract for the Woodside Road Median Improvements Project <br /> #o Scapes, inc. This project is lo�ated on State Route $4, which is under Caltrans' <br /> jurisdiction, but maintained by Ci#y staff through a cooperative agreement. The <br /> improvement starts from the Union Cemetery and extends tp #he Alameda de las <br /> Pulgas. <br /> This praject nof anly imprc�ved the aesfhetic appearance of the VEloodside Road <br /> median landscaping, but it alsa improved the appearance of the stamped conc�ete in <br /> the median. Dead and dying trees were replaced, wh�le shrubberies were replanted for <br /> a mor� aniform appearance, �nd to cor�€orrn to new maintenance sta�dards. Existsng <br /> concrete was pressure washed, and existing sma(I `pafches' of planting were <br /> eliminated for a cieaner appearance. <br /> The project was awarded ta Scapes, Inc. of Half Moon Bay, California, for their base <br /> bid of $325,437.80. Two Change tJrders, totaiing $1?,372.69 (5.3%), were issued ta <br /> account for various quantity adjustments af materia{s needed #o complete the project. <br /> Altemative <br /> Do nat accept the project, which wou(d be contrary to previous Council Action. <br /> Pana 1 nf� � <br />
