ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCIL
Sherry Mitchell, Redwood City resident and owner of Baskin Robbins at the Roosevelt
Shopping Center, thanked the City for arranging the availability of the CERT classes
to the community. She stated that emergency services and emergency preparedness
are a necessity and that her store would like to partner in any way possible. She
further stated that the recent store remodel grand opening involved the Fire
Department staffing a table advertising CERT outside the store. The store offered a
drawing of two emergency preparation kits. Ms. Mitchell presented the City with a
store donation of $500.00 to go directly toward the CERT program.
Sandy Paoli stated gratitude toward those supporting the CERT program. She
thanked Fire Chief Kohlmann for his support and asked the City Council for a
proclamation establishing CERT as a program within the City so that Federal grant
monies can be sought. She further stated that there are 4 slots left for the September
class.
JOINT CITY COUNCIUREDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUGUST 28, 2006
MEETING MINUTES PAGE 4
MINUTE BOOK NO. 61
Page No. 239
