<br />6.10 <br />Page 58 <br /> <br />personnel to operate each reserve truck, and one (1) FIre Fighting personnel to operate <br />each rescue truck dispatched for emergency service. <br /> <br />Depending on the number of personnel on duty, staffing for each station may vary. <br />Employees may refer to Operations Manual Division 5, Article 5-7, and "Apparatus <br />Staffing. " <br /> <br />It is agreed that reference to a minimum number of on-duty suppression personnel shall <br />be deleted from the departmental rules and all other City documents, and the <br />requirement to maintain any such minimum is no longer in effect. <br /> <br />SECTION 26 - PHYSICAL FITNESS PROGRAM <br /> <br />The City shall continue during the term of this MOU the mandatory Physical Fitness <br />Program for all Fire Rghter/Engineers and Are Captains who are assigned to a twenty- <br />four (24) hour work shift. There shall be no cost to the City for the Physical Fitness <br />Program, and it shall normally be conducted between the hours of 0830 and 0930 <br />hours, but the company officer may determine other times for physical activity as <br />needed. <br /> <br />The parties agree that the Safety Committee can establish guidelines on any prohibited <br />physical fitness activities. <br /> <br />SECTION 27 - DRUG-FREE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES <br /> <br />The Parties agree that providing fire protection and emergency services to the <br />community, and the illegal use or possession by employees of drugs, are incompatible <br />and unacceptable. <br /> <br />It is the obligation of employees not to be impaired due to drug' use when they are to <br />report for, or when they are on duty; not to possess illegal drugs or to possess <br />prescription drugs without a bona fide prescription during duty hours or while on City <br />property; not to directly or indirectly sell or provide impairing drugs to a fellow employee <br />while either or both employees are' on duty, except in the proper course of providing <br />emergency medical care to such fellow employees~ and to notify his/her supervisor, <br />before commenting work, when taking any medications or drugs which may interfere <br />with the safe and effective petformance of duties. <br /> <br />Supervisors may require that an employee submit to drug test when such supervisor has <br />reasonable suspicion that an employee is under the influence of drugs at a time when <br />the employee is to perform job duties and responsibilities. "Reasonable suspicion" <br />means a belief based on facts and circumstances sufficient to lead a reasonably prudent <br />supervisor to suspect that an employee is under the influence of drugs. <br /> <br />51 <br />
