<br />6.10 <br />Page 29 <br /> <br />employees shall accrue vacation at a rate (6.154 hours per pay period) that <br />yields one hundred sixty (160) hours of vacation per year through the <br />fourteenth year of service. After completion of the fourteenth year of service, <br />employees shall accrue vacation at a rate (6.923 hours per pay period) that <br />yields one hundred eighty (lSO) hours of vacation per year through the <br />nineteenth year of service. After completion of the nineteenth year of service, <br />employees shall accrue vacation at a rate (7.692 hours per pay period) that <br />yields two hundred (200) hours of vacation per year. <br /> <br />9.3 All employees assigned to twenty-four (24) hour duty shifts shall be entitled to <br />annual vacation leave as follows: <br /> <br />Employees shall accrue vacation at a rate (4.615 hours per pay period) that <br />yields one hundred twenty (120) hours of vacation at the end of each year of <br />service from the first year through the fourth year of service. After completion <br />of the fourth year of service, employees shaH accrue vacation at a rate (7.385 <br />hours per pay period) that yields one hundred ninety-two (192) hours of <br />vacation at the end of each year through the ninth year of service. After <br />completion of the ninth year of service, employees shall accrue vacation at a <br />rate (8.615 hours per pay period) that yields two hundred twenty-four (224) <br />hours of vacation per year through the fourteenth year of service. After <br />completion of the fourteenth year of service, employees shall accrue vacation <br />at a rate (9.692 hours per pay period) that yields two hundred fifty-two (252) <br />hours of vacation per year through the nineteenth year of service. After <br />completion of the nineteenth year of service, employees shall accrue vacation <br />at a rate (10.769 hours per pay period) that yields two hundred eighty (280) <br />hours of vacation per year. <br /> <br />In the event an employee of the Fire Department regularly assigned to a <br />t'Nenty-four (24) hour duty shift is temporarily assigned by the Fire Chief with <br />the approval of the City tJlanager to a forty (40) hour workweek, vacation leave <br />for such employee shall continue to be credited at the fifty-six (56) hour rate. <br />Such appointments and accrual credit shall not exceed ninety (90) calendar <br />days, except by mutual agreement between the Union and the City. This <br />provision does not apply to those employees who are assigned to a light duty <br />assignment due to a non-industrial injury or illness. <br /> <br />9.4 Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued <br />vacation leave computed to the 31st of December, except upon written <br />authorization of the Human Resources Director or his/her designee. <br /> <br />9.5 Upon termination of employment, an employee shall be paid the cash value of <br />any unused vacation leave which has been credited to said employee pursuant <br />to MOU Section 9.3. <br /> <br />22 <br />
