.... ~ ~, 4/26/99 - ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13610 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> ACTING AS THE LEGISLATIVE BODY OF REDWOOD SHORES <br /> COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. 99-1 (SHORES TRANSPORTATION <br /> IMPROVEMENT PROJECT) OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DETERMINING THE NECESSITY TO INCUR BONDED INDEBTEDNESS IN <br /> AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $13,535,000 WITHIN SUCH COMMUNITY <br /> FACILITIES DISTRICT AND CALLING AN ELECTION THEREIN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on March 22, 1999, the City Council of the City of Redwood City (the "City <br /> Council") adopted its Resolution No. 13590 stating its intention to form Redwood Shores <br /> Community Facilities District No. 99-1 (Shores Transportation Improvement Projec0 of the City of <br /> Redwood City (the "District") pursuant to the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982, as <br /> amended (the "Act"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on March 22, 1999 the City Council also adopted its Resolution No. 13591 <br /> stating its intention to incur bonded indebtedness in the amount of $15,325,000 within the District <br /> for the purpose of financing (1) the construction, pumhase, modification, expansion, improvement <br /> or rehabilitation of sanitary sewers, streets, storm drainage facilities, utilities, parks, landscaping, <br /> and other infrastructure improvements and relocations, including traffic signalization and <br /> improvements to street intersections and freeway interchanges, for the following projects, including <br /> ail furnishings, equipment, and supplies related thereto (collectively, the "Facilities"): (a) the <br /> Marine Parkway intersection at or near Oracle WesffShoreway Road; (b)the Marine Parkway <br /> intersection at or near Twin Dolphin Parkway; (c)the Marine Parkway intersection at or near <br /> Bridge Parkway; (d) the Redwood Shores Parkwhy intersection at or near Bridge Parkway; (e) the <br /> Ralston Avenue intersection at or near Hiller Street; (f) the northbound U.S. 101 on-ramp at the <br /> Marine Parkway/Ralston Avenue interchange; (g) the HOV bypass lanes at the northbound U.S. <br /> 101 on-ramp at the Ralston Avenue interchange; and (h)the reconfiguration of the U.S. <br /> 101/Marine Parkway/Ralston Avenue interchange to a partial cloverleaf design; all as such <br /> improvements are more fully described in the "Shores Transportation Improvement District (STID) <br /> Final Report - Phase II" report dated as of April 10, 1998 and supplemented in the "Shores <br /> Transportation Improvement District (STID) Supplement to Final Report" supplement dated as of <br /> June 10, 1998 prepared by Brian Kangas Foulk, and (2) incidental expenses to be incurred, <br /> including (a)the cost of engineering, planning and designing the Facilities; and (b)all costs <br /> associated with the creation of the District, the issuance of the bonds, the determination of the <br /> amount of special taxes to be levied, costs otherwise incurred in order to carry out the authorized <br /> purposes of the District and administering the District (collectively, the "Incidental Expenses"), all <br /> as more fully described in Resolution No. 13590; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice was published and mailed to all landowners of the land proposed to be <br /> included within the District as required by law relative to the intention of the City Council to form <br /> the District, to levy a special tax therein, and t9 incur bonded indebtedness in a maximum <br /> aggregate principal amount of $15,325,000 for the purpose of financing the Facilities and the <br /> Incidental Expenses; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April 26, 1999, the City Council held a noticed public hearing as required <br /> <br /> 15288.5~22931.0003 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
