<br />DES:ef:9/20/73 <br /> <br />ORIGINA[ <br /> <br />ocrl~ <br /> <br />o R DIN A N C E <br />--------- <br /> <br />No.J583 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE I (COMMENCING WITH <br />SECTION 32.1) OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO ill\J'IFORM LOCAL SALES AND <br />USE Ti"\X <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Article I (commencing with Section 32.1) of chapter <br /> <br />32 of the Code of the city of Redwood city is hereby amended to read <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 32.1. This article shall be known as the <br /> <br />Uniform Local Sales and Use Tax Law of the city. <br /> <br />"Section 32.2. The city council hereby declares <br /> <br />that this article is adopted to achieve the follow- <br /> <br />ing, among other, purposes, and directs that the pro- <br /> <br />visions hereof be interpreted in order to accomplish <br /> <br />those purposes: <br /> <br />"(a) To adopt sales and use tax regulations <br />which comply with the requirements and <br />limitations contained in part 1.5 of <br />Division 2 of the Revenue and Taxation <br />Code of the State of california; <br /> <br />"(b) To adopt sales and use tax regulations <br />which incorporate provisions identical <br />to those of the Sales and Use Tax Law <br />of the State of california insofar as <br />those provisions are not inconsistent <br />with the requirements and limitations <br />contained in part 1.5 of Division 2 of <br />the Revenue and Taxation code of the <br />State of california~ <br /> <br />"(c) To adopt sales and use tax regulations <br />which impose a tax and provide a measure <br />therefor that can be administered and <br />collected by the State Board of Equali- <br />za~ion in a manner that adapts itself <br />as fully as practicable to, and requires <br />the least possible deviation from the <br />existing statutory and administrative <br />procedures followed by the State Board <br />of Equalization in administering and <br />collecting the California State Sales <br />and Use Taxes~ <br />
