<br />Employees appointed to position~; in said classifications <br /> <br /> <br />shall receive a monthly salary within said salary ranges as <br /> <br /> <br />above set forth. Employees eligible for promo,tional competitive <br /> <br /> <br />service examinations for positions enumerated in Sections 2 <br /> <br /> <br />through 42 hereof, prior to qualification and appointment to such <br /> <br /> <br />positions, and from and after January 1, 1971, shall receive as <br /> <br /> <br />additional compensation 2.5% of their basic monthly salary <br /> <br /> <br />v:ithin the salary ranges as established and retained by this <br /> <br /> <br />section. <br /> <br /> <br />~EC'rJON_ 55. '1'he provisions of the foregoing sections of <br /> <br /> <br />this ordinance to the contrary notwithstanding, if a position <br /> <br /> <br />allocated to a given class in the competitive service is <br /> <br /> <br />reallocated to a different class in order to correct an error <br /> <br /> <br />or to provide for a change in duties or responsibilities of <br /> <br /> <br />such position, and there is no chanqe in the incumbent of the <br /> <br /> <br />position so reallocated, and the maximum salary provided for <br /> <br />the position as reallocated is less than the salary received <br /> <br /> <br />by the incumbent prior to reallocation, then said incumbent <br /> <br /> <br />shall continue to b8 compensated at t:he rate paid said incumbent <br /> <br /> <br />prior to such reallocation. <br /> <br />SEC'tION 5~. Except as provided in Section 54 hereof p <br /> <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1445, adopted February 2, 1970, entitled "An <br /> <br /> <br />Ordinance Establishing Salaries for Employees of the city of <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood city~ and, Repealing Ordinance No. 1382," as amended, <br /> <br /> <br />is hereby repealed, effective January 1, 1971.. <br /> <br />SECTION 57. 'rhis ordinance shall be effective 30 days <br /> <br /> <br />after its adoption.
