AMEHDI>3NT TO COi'JTFi.ACT BEYi'lEEN TIiE BOA~D OF ADNINIS~TION PUBLIC EH~LOYESS' RETIREi.lKNT SYSTgI'1 AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REm-JOOD CITY The Board of Administration, Public E~91oyees' Retirement System, hereinafter referred to as Board, and the CITY COU~'JC1L of the CITY OF RED\'TOOD CITY, hereinafter referred to as Public Agency, ha.ving entered into a contract under date of July 11, 19h1, effective July 1, 1941, and as amended effective July 1, 1954, August 1, 1959, and January 1, 1967, which provides for participation of Public Agency in said Systern, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows: A. The folloiung subparagraphs shall be added to Paragraph 8 of said Contract: 8 (i) Section 21365.5 (providing a monthly allowance in lieu of the basic death benefit for certain survivors of a member who dies in employ- ment after qualifying for voluntary service retirement). 8 (j) Section 21380-7 (providing for alloi.rances for survivors of members covered under the program upon death before retirement). B. Paragraphs 9 (a) and 9 (b) shall be stricken from said Contract and the follow- ing paragraphs substituted therefor: 9 (a) With respect to miscellaneous members, the public agency shall contribute the follo\~ng percentages of monthly salaries earned as miscellaneous members of said System: (1) 0.813 percent until June 30, 1971 on account of the liability for prior service benefits. (2) 8.311 percent on account of the liability for current service benefits. (3) $5.00 ner month for each member covered under the provisions of Sectio~ 21380-7 (PEaS Survivor Progra~). 9 (b) With respect to local safety members, the public agency shall contribute the follo.dng percentages of monthly salaries earned as local safety members of said System: (1) 1.006 percent until June 30, 1911 on account of the liability for prior service benefits.
