REG.ek 11/22/67 ORD~NANCE NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.77 OF, AND ADDING SECTION 2.79 TO, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE MAKING OF PERSONAL SERVICE CONTRACTS AND THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2.77 of Article VII of Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2.77. All contracts for public works or improvements costing two thousand dollars or less, all contracts for personal services for two thousand dollars or less, and all purchases of materials, equipment or supplies of two thousand dollars or less may be entered into by the City Manager without advertisement and without observing the procedures prescribed herein for the awarding of written contracts. The City Manager may, if necessary funds to pay for the materials, equipment or supplies required have been appropriated, issue and execute pur- chase orders therefor specifying the quantity, type and price of materials, equipment or supplies to be obtained and the terms and conditions of purchase, performance and delivery. SECTION 2. Section 2.79 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Section 2.79 (a) The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to contract for expert personal services of engineering, appraisal, right-of-way acquisition, and legal nature, to the extent that such services are necessary or convenient to the formation and completion of such local special assessment districts as are authorized to be instituted by the Council of the City of Redwood City and to the extent that unencumbered funds are available therefor.
