I~~f <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECl'ION 9.11 OF ARTICLE II OP <br />CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RELATING TO THE ABATEMENT OF UNSAFE BUILDINGS <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 9.11 of Article II of Chap\er 9 of the <br />Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended t~ read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />"Section 9 .11 <br /> <br />The owner of a building or structure <br /> <br />may, within ten days after adoption of the resolution <br /> <br />determining the existence of a public nuisance, as <br /> <br />provided by Section 9.8, file a written notice with the <br />Building Inspector requiring and authorizing the Building <br /> <br />Inspector to conduct a public auction of the lumber and <br /> <br />materials contained in the building or structure. Thereafter <br /> <br />the Building Inspector shall conduct a public auction for <br /> <br />the sale of such materials. <br /> <br />"Notice to the Building Inspector shall be given on <br /> <br />forms provided by the Building Inspector. <br /> <br />"Notice of the auction shall be given by the publication <br /> <br />thereof in the official newspaper and by mailing a copy of <br /> <br />such notice to the owner at least five days prior to the <br />date fixed for the sale. The cost of such publication <br /> <br />shall be included in the abatement cost. <br /> <br />"The successful bidder shall complete removal of all <br /> <br />lumber and material purchased at the auction within l4 <br /> <br />days after the date of the auction and shall be entitled <br /> <br />to no refund in the event he fails to do so." <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
