<br />WHK:yc:7/5/66-7 <br /> <br />ORD~NAN~E NO.~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27.61 OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO SEWER CONNECTION FEES <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 27.61 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"section 27.61 <br /> <br />(a) In the event City constructs or <br /> <br />causes the construction of any public sewer from moneys in <br /> <br />the sewer rental fund, the sewer connection fee fund or from <br /> <br />any general funds of the City (including the proceeds of any <br />bond issue for which the general credit of the City is obli- <br />gated), an additional fee in the amount of Five Hundred Fifty <br />Dollars shall be paid for each connection to that portion of <br /> <br />the sewer system; provided, that in any case where the City <br /> <br />Engineer determines that any sewer line, or segment thereof, <br /> <br />constructed under this section after July 1, 1966, will <br /> <br />benefit and serve properties abutting on one side of that <br /> <br />sewer only, Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars shall be paid for <br /> <br />each connection to that portion of the City's sewer system. <br />This section shall not be applicable to portions of the sewer <br /> <br />system upon which City funds are expended to partially pay <br /> <br />for the expense of construction if the only purpose of the <br /> <br />City's contribution to the over-all cost is to cause the <br /> <br />construction of a larger sewer main than would have been <br /> <br />constructed without the city's contribution. <br /> <br />II (b) For purposes of this section, every public sewer <br /> <br />constructed prior to January 1, 1960, shall be presumed to <br /> <br />have been installed at the sole cost of the adjoining property <br /> <br />owners. The City Engineer shall main:tain an accurate record <br /> <br />of all public sewers installed subsequent to January 1, 1960, <br /> <br />for the purpose of establishing a record of those sewers, <br />
