<br />provided both of the following conditions are met: <br />II I (l) The bottom of the water service pipe, at <br /> <br />all points, shall be at least l2 inches above the top <br />of the sewer line. <br /> <br />II I (2) The water service pipe shall be placed on <br /> <br />a solid shelf excavated at one side of the common trench. <br /> <br />"' (c) Water piping installed within a building <br /> <br />and in or under a concrete floor slab resting on the <br /> <br />ground shall be installed in accordance with the fol- <br /> <br />lowing requirements: <br /> <br />III (1) Ferrous piping shall have a protective <br />coating of an approved type, machine applied and con- <br /> <br />forming to recognized standards. Field wrapping shall <br /> <br />provide equivalent protection and is restricted to <br /> <br />those short sections and fittings necessarily stripped <br /> <br />for threading. Zinc coating (galvanizing) shall not <br />be deemed adequate protection for piping or fittings. <br /> <br />Approved non-ferrous piping need not be wrapped. <br />o <br /> <br />.. I (2) Copper tubing shall be installed without <br /> <br />joints where possible. Where joints are permitted, <br /> <br />they shall be soldered with 95.5 solder and fitting <br /> <br />shall be wrought copper. <br /> <br />II . (d) No water supply system or portion thereof, <br /> <br />shall be covered or concealed until it first has been <br /> <br />tested, inspected and approved. <br /> <br />II i (e) Before such approval, both hot and cold <br /> <br />water piping shall be subjected to a full working water <br /> <br />pressure test from the street main or other source of <br /> <br />supply, or to an air pressure of not less than 50 pounds <br />per square inch for not less than l5 minutes.
