NAN C E N O. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.118 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO TEE <br />USE OF COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS IN SIGNS <br /> <br />~. <br />j f""t.l <br /> <br />TEE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 3.118 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 3.118 <br /> <br />All signs in Fire Zones No. 1 and <br /> <br />No. 2 shall be of incombustible materials except (a) signs <br /> <br />not exceeding 35 square feet in area which do not exceed <br /> <br />six feet in height and which are not attached to a building <br />and (b) a single sign on any parcel, not exceeding 20 square <br /> <br />feet in area, which complies with all of the following: <br />(1) does not extend over a public right of way by more than <br />six inches, (2) is supported by incombustible material or <br />is attached to an incombustible wall, and (3) designates <br /> <br />only the name of the building or its occupant. <br /> <br />"No combustible materials other than plastics approved <br /> <br />by the Building Inspector shall be used in the construction <br /> <br />of any electric sign. <br /> <br />II I Incombustible materiallt is any material which will <br /> <br />not ignite at or below a temperature of 1,200 degrees <br /> <br />Fahrenheit and will not continue to burn or glow at that <br /> <br />temperature. .. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
