<br />,. <br /> <br />WHJM: EAW: ea <br /> <br />1/13/64 <br /> <br />, 15 c, <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />:1:1 .14 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 785 RELATING <br />TO PROCEEDINGS UNDER THE PARKING DISTRICT LAW OF <br />1951, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY <br /> <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City do ordain as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. Ordinance No. 785, entitled An Ordinance <br /> <br />Relating to Proceedings Heretofore or Hereafter Taken Pursuant <br /> <br />to the Parking District Law of 1951, adopted January 17, 1955, <br />is amended by adding Sections 19 through 28, inclusive, numbered, <br /> <br />and to read as follows: <br /> <br />19. Inclusion of Territory. Territory contiguous to a <br />district created pursuant to this ordinance or to a street which <br /> <br />is contiguous thereto may be annexed thereto pursuant to Sections <br />20 through 28 hereof. <br /> <br />20. Petition. The owners of real property owning not <br />less than fifty-one per cent (51%) in assessed value of the tax- <br />able real property in the territory described therein, as shown <br />on the last equalized tax roll on which taxes for the City are <br /> <br />collected, and owning taxable land therein constituting not less <br />than fifty-one per cent (51%) of the total area of all taxable <br /> <br />land therein, may petition the Council for the annexation of said <br /> <br />territory to a district. <br /> <br />21. Resolution of Preliminary Determination and of Inten- <br />tion. The Council shall adopt a Resolution of Preliminary Determin- <br /> <br />ation and of Intention in which it shall preliminarily determine <br /> <br />that the public interest, convenience and necessity require and <br /> <br />that it intends to annex territory, describing its boundaries and <br /> <br />referring to the district by title and by reference to the ordinance <br /> <br />by which it was created. The resolution shall also state a time and <br /> <br />place when and where the Council will hear the matter and all persons <br /> <br />interested therein. <br /> <br />T".. <br />
