a business conducted on the parcel on which the sign ~s

located or for the purpose of advertising the sale, lease

or hire of goods or services produced or sold on such parcel

shall be permitted in CG and Gl Districts and shall not be

placed or maintained in any other zoning district.

"Section 3.124 projecting and roof signs are prohibited

in the CA, CP, IP and PO Districts.

"section 3.125 Signs that rotate, flash or are other-

wise designed to give the appearance of being animated or

moving are prohibited in all zoning districts except the

CB, CG and Cl Districts."

SECTION 4. This ordinance ~s declared to be an emergency

measure necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace,

health and safety, and shall go into effect on June 10, 1964.

The facts constituting such urgency are as follows:

This Council has heretofore adopted new zoning regulations

for the City of Redwood City which regulations will become effective

on June 10, 1964. This ordinance will leave portions of the city

without adequate regulations of signs. This Council has received

evidence showing that the absence of such regulations will adverse-

ly affect the existing and proposed development in the city and

will adversely affect the safety and welfare of the inhabitants

of the city. In addition, this Council has found that the amend-

ments provided by this ordinance will, if made effective on the

same date as the zoning ordinance enacted by Ordinance No. ll30,

protect the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of this city.

*

*

*

-4-
