<br />SECTION 4. Section 2.36 is hereby added to the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, to read as follows: <br />"section 2.36 A special fund to be known as the <br />'Equipment Replacement Fund' is hereby established. All <br />monies heretofore or hereafter allocated to the Equipment <br />Replacement Fund shall be appropriated or expended for the <br />acquisition of new equipment or the replacement of worn out <br />or out-moded equipment of the City of Redwood City, includ- <br />ing, but not limited to, motor vehicles for Police and Fire <br />Departments, street, Water and Sewer Departments, machinery <br />and equipment for Corporation Yard, office equipment, <br />furnishings and furniture, and other capital items of sim- <br />ilar character. <br />"None of the funds in the Equipment Replacement Fund <br />shall be used for current expenses of the operation of the <br />City; provided, however, that the Council may, during the <br />first four calendar months of each fiscal year, transfer <br />from the Equipment Replacement Fund to any other established <br />account or fund such unencumbered amounts as may be tempor- <br />arily required for the purpose of placing such account or <br />fund on a cash basis. All monies so transferred shall be <br />returned to the Equipment Replacement Fund on or before <br />December 3l of the fiscal year in which any transfer was <br />made. The provisions of this paragraph shall not be construed <br />as expanding the purposes for which monies in the Sales Tax <br />Capital Expenditure Fund may be expended." <br />SECTION 5. Section 2.40 is hereby added to the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, to read as follows: <br />"Section 2.40 A special fund to be known as the <br />'Special Deposit FundI is hereby created.
