Both the principal hereof and redemption premium hereon are payable upon presentation and surrender hereof at the Corporate Trust Department of Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association, as Paying Agent, Transfer Agent and Registrar (the "Agent"), in San Francisco, California, and the interest hereon is payable by check mailed to the Registered Owner hereof at such Registered Owner's address as it appears on the registration books of the Agent, or at such address as may have been filed with the Agent for that purpose, as of fifteenth day immediately preceding each interest payment date. REFERENCE IS HEREBY MADE TO THE FURTHER PROVISIONS OF THIS BOND SET FORTH ON THE REVERSE HEREOF WHICH SHALL FOR ALL PURPOSES HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS THOUGH FULLY SET FORTH IN THIS PLACE. This Bond will continue to bear interest after maturity at the rate above stated provided that it is presented at maturity and payment hereof is refused upon the sole ground that there are not sufficient moneys in said redemption fund with which to pay same. If it is not presented at maturity interest hereon will run only until maturity. This Bond shall not be entitled to any benefit under the Act or the Resolution entitled "A Resolution Authorizing Issuance of Refunding Bonds", adopted by the City Council of the City on April 9, 1990 (the "Resolution of Issuance"), or become valid or obligatory for any purpose, until the certificate of authentication and registration hereon shall have been dated and signed by the Agent. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said City of Redwood City has caused the Bond to be signed in facsimile by its Treasurer and by its City Clerk, and has caused its corporate seal to be reproduced in facsimile hereon all as of the 1st day of May, 1990.
