The 0 perati ng sys tern of the Redwood City <br />Prime computer is the Prime Infonnation operating system (Pick-like) and <br />the programming language is Info/Basic (Pascal-like). <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />A person in this classification prepares and maintains computer programs <br />and perfonns computer 0 perati ons and rel ated duti es as assi gned. <br />Res pons i b1 e for both new deve10pnent and mai ntenance of exi sti ng sys tems, <br />testing, implementation, and evaluation of new application programs. <br />These duties require numerical and logic aptitude for program logic <br />comprehension and data flow visualization. This position has no <br />supervi sory responsi bil ity and requi res 1 ess independence, 1 ess <br />procedural analysis, less training others, and less difficult programming <br />than the Programmer Analyst II. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Recei ves ge neral supervi si on from the Data Servi ces Manager, and has no <br />supervi sory responsi bil ity over other personnel. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Typi cal duti es may i ncl ude but are not 1 imi ted <br />to the following: <br /> <br />Perfonn pro cedural anal ys is. <br /> <br />Design input source documents. <br /> <br />Develop cl eri cal procedures for document preparati on. <br /> <br />Translate problem statements into detailed instructions <br />and sol uti ons . <br />
