<br />PROGRAMMER ANALYST II <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under the supervision of the Data Services Manager, prepares and <br />mai ntai ns computer pro grams and data, perfonns computer operati ons, and <br />related duties as required. The operating system of the Redwood City <br />Prime computer is the Prime Infonnation operating system (Pick-like) and <br />the programming language is Info/Basic (Pascal-like). <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />A person in thi s cl assi ficati on prepares and mai ntai ns computer pro grams <br />and perfonns computer 0 perati ons and rel ated duti es as assi gned. <br />Responsible for both new develojlTlent and maintenance of existing systems, <br />testing, implementation, and evaluation of new appl ication programs. <br />These duties require numerical and logic aptitude for program logic <br />comprehension and data flow visual ization. This position has no <br />supervi sory res pons i bil ity, but requi res more i nde pe ndence, pro cedural <br />analysis, training of others, and generally more difficult programming <br />than the Programmer Analyst 1. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Recei ves ge neral supervi si on from the Data Servi ces Manager, and has no <br />supervi sory res ponsi bil ity over other personnel. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Typi cal duti es may i ncl ude but are not 1 imi ted <br />to the following: <br /> <br />Perfonn pro cedural anal ys is. <br /> <br />Desi gn input source documents. <br /> <br />Develop cl eri cal procedures for document preparati on. <br /> <br />Translate problem statements into detailed instructions <br />and sol uti ons. <br />
