<br />MJP:dj~ 09/20/89R (068/#25) <br />SEP 2 5 1989 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11157 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING COST OF LIVING INCREASE FOR THE <br />POSITIONS OF POLICE SERGEANT, POLICE OFFICER, AND POLICE <br />OFFICER TRAINEE PURSUANT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE REDWOOD CITY POLICE <br />OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City and the Redwood City Police Officers Association for <br /> <br />the period from September 1,1988 to August 31,1990 provides <br /> <br />that effective with the first pay period beginning on or after <br /> <br />September 1, 1989, each bargaining unit member shall receive a <br /> <br />cost of living increase of between four percent (4%) and seven <br /> <br />percent (7%) in an amount to correspond to the increase in the <br /> <br />annual Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers (San <br /> <br />Francisco and Oakland); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On July 19, 1989, the Bureau of Labor Statistics <br /> <br />reported that the San Francisco/Oakland Consumer Price Index rose <br /> <br />5.1 percent for the preceding calendar year, so that under the <br /> <br />Memorandum of Understanding, members of the Redwood City Police <br /> <br />Officers Association are entitled to a 5.1 percent cost of living <br /> <br />increase; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Effective September 11, 1989, the monthly salary rates <br /> <br />in dollars, and the hourly equivalent rates thereof, for the <br /> <br />positions of Police Sergeant, Police Officer, and Police Officer <br /> <br />Trainee, as set forth in Exhibit A to Resolution No. 10855, <br /> <br />"Resolution Establishing A Salary Schedule And Wage Plan For The <br />
